THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

A rodeo cowboy was applying for health insurance.

The insurance salesman asked, "Have you had any accidents?"

"Wa'll," responded the cowboy, "a steer broke two o' mah ribs, and a buckin' horse cracked my skull."

Insurance salesman, "Can you call those accidents."

Cowboy, "Nah! I think they did it apurpose!"

Matt 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The Holy Bible is no accident! It is Divinely inspired, written by One Author, Who used men as pens in His perfect hand. And the Bible is "food for the soul."

Everything in nature is renewed each year. The trees labor only for beauty to glorify the Lord, but even they must draw strength from the ground. In the winter their leaves fall away, and in the spring they put on new growth. Their strength must come from what God PROVIDES.

So are we, frail creatures subject to the weather of the world. And we must "renew our strength" from day to day and year after year. We must draw our strength from what God PROVIDES - His WORD.

Without study of the Word, we are like starving saints! Our "sap" is weak, and our growth is stunted. We become barren of worship and witness which are means to glorify our Lord.

Without constant study we are unprepared for the assaults of the devil, and even for the self-inflicted pains of life. We need the spiritual strength of the "meal" of God!

How long has it been since you read completely through the Bible in one year? A little daily reading will give you "food" for each day, and strength to grow in glory for God.

Seven chapters a day, and you will complete the Bible in 6 months.
Three chapters a day, and you will complete the Bible in one year.
To read "through" the Bible in one year is not an accident; it takes planning.

Read the Word.
Heed the Word.
Live the Word.
It's "food for the soul."

Love ya,
Bruce
