THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><>

The funeral was being held by a minister who had never met the deceased. Carried away by the occasion, he poured out praise for the departed man.

After ten minutes of describing the deceasesed as an exceptional father, husband, and friend, the widow nudged her son and said, "Go up there and make sure that's your Papa!"

Ps 115:1-3
1 Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. 2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God? 3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
(KJV)

If we achieve any success in this life, we are not to say we have done it by our own power (See Deuteronomy 8:17).

And it is certainly not because of our righteousness that God has helped us with any accomplishment (Deuteronomy 9:4).

Any accomplishment we may have is simply because God has had mercy upon us an acted according to His own truths.

He is GOD, He reigns over all the earth, and does whatever He pleases.

Those who worship idols may ask, "Where is your God, we cannot SEE Him?"

And we can answer, "He came, He lived on earth, He died on a cross, He was buried in a tomb, and on the third day He resurrected Himself, and ascended to glory above and beyond all we can see and hear." We also can say, "He is not like an idol; not the work of men's hands. Neither is God like man which some people worship. Men who die are still in the grave. But Jesus Christ is RISEN!"

Indeed, let us give ALL praise to our Lord, Jesus Christ!

Love ya,

No Christ, no glory; know Christ, know glory.
