THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

She came into the living room and sat down with a big sigh.
He asked, "Whatsa matter, Hon?"
She said, "I had the refrigerator door open and couldn't remember why. I think I'm losing my mind!"
"Well," he said putting his paper back in front of his face, "I'm not surprised. You've been giving me a piece of it daily for over 50 years!"
And he didn't see it coming!

Zech 3:1-4
1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
2 And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.

Joshua, the high priest of Israel at that time, was called before "The angel of the LORD" -- Messiah, Jesus -- the representative of the Father. Joshua, was clothed with "filthy garments." He had sin, and Israel had sin. How could he expect to stand before the LORD? How could he expect to stand FOR the people of Israel?
Satan was there to accuse Joshua and to resist Messiah. He accused Joshua of sin and resisted the Savior with those accusations, which were true.
Have you, Christian, ever felt like Joshua? Of course you have - hopefully, you have felt this way EACH DAY! For we are all sinners. We have sin in our hearts, and on our hands.
Just as Zechariah saw this prophesy, we see ourselves daily!
But there is GOOD NEWS for Christians!
Jesus, the LORD, gave a stinging rebuke to Satan. God had made an immutable and eternal choice of Joshua. He was indeed a "a brand plucked out of the fire!" He had been IN the fires of judgment for his sin. But Jesus had plucked him out by grace! He had washed, cleansed and sanctified Joshua!
Therefore, Jesus had clothed Joshua with a "change of raiment." That change of raiment was Christ's own RIGHTEOUSNESS!
And that, my Christian friends is where we stand today!---Wrapped in the garments of HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS! If it were not so, we could not be called His children. If it were not so, He would not continually accept us at the throne of grace and daily forgive our sins.
In ourselves there is no good thing. We sinners indeed, and sinners in need.
But in Christ, we are cleansed, adopted, sealed, immutably and eternally chosen!
PRAISE HIM TODAY!
Love ya,
Bruce
