I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. To which I said I did.
She said, "well I certainly hope it isn't loaded!"
To which I said, "of course it is loaded, can't work without bullets.."
She then asked, "Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?"
My reply was, "No, not at all. I'm not afraid of the house catching fire either.
But I have fire extinquishers, and they're ALL LOADED!"

Luke 11:21-23
21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him,
he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.

Our "palace" is our lives. Jesus referred to this as the home of who we are.
We, as human beings, believe that if we are "armed" and "strong," we can live in peace.
However, Satan is certainly "stronger" than we! He can come upon us by surprise and
overcome us with deceipt. He can ruin our lives and take away all our goods.
But there is One Who is stronger than Satan! Jesus has defeated him at the
cross and tomb. He IS the "stronger One"!! He is ALIVE! He OWNS "life."
Satan is defeated, and all he has is "death" -- ETERNAL death!
If you have surrendered to Christ, He is the Master of your "palace." He
will keep it protected. He has given you "life," and He will never take it away!
Now, Jesus followed this example with a statement: "He that is not WITH me is
AGAINST me: and he that GATHERETH NOT with me SCATTERETH abroad."
THIS is how you know that your "palace" is protected: That you are WITH Christ and
WORKING with Him!
