THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Hebert ('abare) found a new job in sales. His boss told him to meet with all the other new salesmen for training. They were to meet in a "high-faluting" restaraunt in New Orleans.
When Hebert got there, the doorman wouldn't let him in without a tie.
Hebert went back to his car and looked everywhere for a tie, but there just wasn't one.
In desperation, he opened the trunk and got out his battery cables. He hung them around his neck and tied them in a small knot. Then he went back to the restaraunt.
The doorman said, "Ok. I'm gonna let you in. But don't START nuthin!"

Let's set the record straight. Many times this verse has been misquoted.
It does NOT say, "all things work together for good." That is not the complete thought. It DOES say, "all things work together for good TO them that LOVE God, (AND) TO them who are the CALLED according to HIS purpose."
Many years ago, when I first began as a pastor, something happened to my eyes. The pages never looked clear anymore. The doctor fitted me with glasses, and then the pages looked clear.
To the unsaved, the verse above looks like a blurry philosophical theorem that has yet to be proven. He/she doesn't have the glasses of faith!
But to the Christian, this verse is clear; and represents a FACT through his/her love of God. He/she does have the glasses of faith!
There are many storms which my ship of faith must encounter.
But I know the CAPTAIN will endure forever. And He will not allow me to encounter a storm through which He cannot guide me.
Also, every storm I encounter brings with it a lesson. If I truly "love God" there is a "purpose" of God for me in every difficulty.
And the main purpose is enduring each difficulty with a steadfast testimony to my Lord Jesus. God can make "good" come from evil!
To the unsaved, faith is not reasonable.
But when the unsaved SEE faith being steadfast, even in storms, then the "purpose" of God for the believer is accomplished.
Others SEE a testimonial of enduring faith.
And the unbeliever is convicted of a reason to believe!
Love ya,
