THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A visitor to the mental asylum asked how the psychiatrist determined if a person was insane.

"Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, we offer a teaspoon, a teacup, and a bucket to the patient and ask the patient to empty the bathtub."

What would you do? Would you use the bucket? The cup? The spoon?

Rom 8:34 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
KJV

*********************************************************************************************

It is Jesus, our Lord, Who condemns those who do not surrender to Him.
It is Jesus, our Lord, Who saves to the "uttermost" those who DO surrender to Him.

Jesus Christ is risen and set at the "right hand" of the Father. He is in the place of POWER. He is in the place of AUTHORITY. And He Who is placed their is our INTERCESSOR and REPRESENTATIVE.

Being in the place of power, Jesus compels us to Him, repels evil and harm from us, and propels us to the "city not built with hands."

Being in the place of authority, Jesus is able to make sinful men "sons of God."

Being in the place of intercessor, Jesus is always pleading that "all things work together for good" to those who trust and believe in Him.

Being in the place of representative, Jesus applies His person for our benefit.
When He died for us, we received forgiveness.
When He rose from the dead we received justification.
When He sat down at His Father's "right hand," He pours out grace "exceedingly abundantly" for those who are His.

Yes, the condemnation of those who refuse Jesus comes from Him.
But the sealed and eternal salvation of those who surrender to Him also comes from him.

"Oh victory in Jesus, my Savior forever.
He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood.
He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him.
He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood."

Love ya,
Bruce
