THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Yesterday I visited a church where I was to deliver the sermon.

As I entered the building, a fella introduced himself.
He said, "I'll call you when it's time for you to come up.
Then, I'll introduce you and tell ya when it's time to start up."

I looked at my wife, and said, "Ok. She'll tell me when to SHUT UP!"

Ps 107:23-28
23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
24 These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.
25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.
28 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

Have you ever come to your "wit's end?"

Sometimes we face torn plans or troubles we cannot get over, under or around by using our own strengths and abilities.

The psalmist, in our Scripture today, depicts a storm on the sea.
The waves are very high in a terrible wind.
The souls of those on board are what we call in Southern colloquism:
"SKEERED TO DEATH!"

But then, they call upon the Lord, and He DELIVERS them!!

There are times when we must say, "I can't change it! I can't fix it! I can't work it out! It's bigger than me!"

Then it is important for us to remember that, as Christians, we have committed EVERYTHING to God.

And NOTHING is bigger than God!!
He can work it out!
He can fix it!
He can change it!

Give it all to JESUS!

Love ya,
Bruce
