THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><>
A little boy went to visit with his Aunt for a few days. Before he went to bed that first night, she asked him what he wanted for breakfast the next morning.
He said, "When I'm at home, Mom will only let me eat 3 pancakes. But I want to eat as many as I want."
Next morning, his aunt piled up 4 pancakes on his plate. He ate them and asked if he could have more. She gave him 4 more. He ate them all. Then she asked if he wanted more.
He said, "Oh, no Ma'am. I don't want any more. In fact I don't want the ones I've already eaten." And he ran to the bathroom!

Prov 27:7
7 The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

I remember eating honey and biscuits as a child. My Mom always told me, "If you eat too much of that, it will make you ill."
The most economic time to buy groceries is when you are FULL. If you are not HUNGRY, you won't spend much.
When a person is filled with Christ, he/she will not want to try just anything to satisfy his/her ego. A Christian may experience spiritual hunger, but just any old thing will not be tempting.
Jesus said, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." (Matthew 5:6)
But when a person is spiritually empty, ANYTHING is tempting! People without Christ are easy targets for the devil's advertising. He advertises things like: drinking, gambling, dope addiction, sexual promiscuity and perversion all the time. These things appeal to the spiritual side of a person as much as to the fleshly nature of a person. They are things that call for personal gratification.
The best time to face the world and its temptations is when you are FULL of Christ! Each day, before we face the world's temptations, we should fill up on Christ through prayer and Bible study. Then the spiritual temptations of the world are not so appealing.
Let us pray today that Christ will fill us before we go into the world. And let us pray that we "...might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding...." (Colossians 1:9)

Trying to be filled with things of the world leaves one hungry; but Christ FILLS the soul!
