THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

When he invented dynamite, Alfred Nobel became a multimillionaire.

However, on April 12, 1888, Alfred's brother, Ludwig, died.
The next day, a French newspaper inadvertently ran an obituary on Alfred Nobel!

The article read, "The merchant of death is dead. Dr. Alfred Nobel, who became rich by finding ways to kill more people faster than ever before, died yesterday."

Alfred was very upset to learn that he would be remembered this way.
Therefore, he set up a trust with over $4,000,000 (in 1896 money) so that he would be remembered fondly. The money would be used to award people influential in causes of peace, literature, and the sciences.

Ya might say Alfred had to die in order to see what his life was all about!

Col 2:13-14
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Ah! What GREAT things Jesus has done for us!

When we were "dead in .... sins," He came and made us "quickened" (or ALIVE) in Him! We were spiritually dead to any connection to God; but Jesus came and made us ALIVE again!

He made us alive again by "having forgiven" ALL our "trespasses" and by "blotting out" the record of sins we had, have, and will commit!

Forgiveness and erasing of our sin is purchased by His blood shed at Calvary. Jesus made full atonement for ALL our sin. Therefore, oceans of forgiveness are prepared by God for us to receive.

Forgiveness and erasing of our sin are accessed by genuinely confessing our sin and begging Him to release us from them (1John 1:9).

Christian, do you believe this?
Have you died to self, and surrendered to Jesus?
Then great joy fills your heart, and you are quickened into a new and lasting relationship with Him!

What GREAT love fills Him Who willingly served us at Calvary!
What GREAT love should fill us, and bring us to serve Him in our new life!

Lord Jesus help us today to exemplify our quickening through servitude!

Love ya,
Bruce
