THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><>
Grandmother was not feeling well Sunday morning, so she didn't go to church. Her grandson, Timmy, came home from church sharing what he learned in Sunday School.
He said, "Grandmother, my teacher said that Jesus was Jewish."
Grandmother replied, "Well, Timmy my son. That may be true. But Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist; and in my book, that makes Him BAPTIST!"

John 1:1-14
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Before there was time, there was Jesus and He was God. (See Isaiah 43:11 and John 10:30)
He is the "Creator" (See Hebrews 1:1-3).
He is the "light" of men, because all men receive their breath and life from Him. (See Genesis 2:7)
He is the "light" of the world, because He shows real truth to all mankind. (See John 15:22)
The world has always tried to make God in whatever "image" they choose. Therefore the world did not receive Jesus as God incarnate (Verse 10 above).
The Jewish nation knew there was to be a "Messiah." But they wanted the Messiah to be Who they wanted, not what he was (Verse 11 above). Therefore, they didn't recognize Jesus as God incarnate.
But for those who DID and DO receive Him as God incarnate, He gives "power" to be adopted into the family of God (Verse 12 above). Those who surrender to Jesus become "born again," "washed in the blood," "sealed in the Spirit," and full "sons of God!" (See verse 13 above.)
And when Jesus came, mankind received the ONLY "image" of God (Verse 14 above). He is the visible image of the invisible God. He is the "Word" become "flesh." He is what He is, and will not be what we try to make Him.
Instead of trying to recreate the Creator, let us surrender to His Lordship and strive to become what He wants to make us.
Love ya,
