THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Some bats were infesting the churches of a certain town. Seemed they really liked to make their nests in the belfry.

The Catholic church fumigated, but the bats were back next month.
The Methodist caught them in crates, took them out of town, but next month they were back.
The Baptists caught 'em, baptized 'em, and put their names on the roll of the church.
No one has seen them since!

Phil and Pam Morgan write and sing some very good music.
Phil also writes some very inspirational devotions.
Here's one I received recently from him.

"Last week Pam and I participated in the first Southern Gospel Music Fanfair in Chattanooga, TN. We sang on the main stage and had a booth in the exhibit hall. It was a great time to catch up with other singers out sharing the gospel through music. My friend, Todd Myers from the Heartland Boys walked by and we started chatting. While we were sharing about some of the amazing things we had seen God do in the past few months, he told me the following story.

The Heartland Boys were a bit apprehensive when a pastor came up to them before a concert and said the church had "bats in the belfry." They found out the pastor wasn't just using a figure of speech when moments before they started to sing, a real live bat flew down to terrorize the congregation. The pastor told them to look down and everything would be OK, but Todd and several others just about lost it when the furry critter made some close fly-by passes. With everyone's head already bowed, the pastor began praying, "Lord, we can't go on with this service until you help us remove the bat. And Lord, you know we need to worship you tonight." When the pastor finished praying, the bat slammed head first into a wall and fell dazed onto the altar, where one of the men gently picked him up and took him outside. They prayed, God answered, and the service went on without a hitch! Philippians 4:6 says "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." That even covers bats!"

Through prayer, God changes things!

Love ya,
Bruce
