THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Talked to an old cowboy once.
He had some simple, but quite admirable advice.

"Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.
A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.
Words that soak into your ears are whispered...not yelled. "

To have a dear friend, with whom we can be comfortable in any conversation, is especially wonderful.
Let us remember that to HAVE such a friend, we must first BE one (Proverbs 18:24).

There is a "sweetness" in friendship that is not even found in some relationships!
And that "sweetness" makes the "heart" "rejoice!"

The burdens of life, under which we often struggle, are accepted by our close friend, and he/she tends to make them lighter.
We should remember to welcome the sharing of burdens by our friends, and try to make them lighter.

A true friend seeks to give us "hearty counsel," or good advice.
Let us remember to do the same with our friend.
Carefully consider before giving advice; test to be sure it is right.

The BEST "hearty counsel" we can share with a friend is what Jesus has done for us!
The most heart-warming conversation we can have with our friend is one that includes the love and forgiveness of God through Jesus Christ.

By having such a conversation with a friend, we promote a prosperity that is beyond material things, and enlightens the eyes of the soul to eternal life.

Be a friend.
Talk to your friend about Jesus.

Love ya,
Bruce
