I once heard my wife's cousin, missionary Earl Williams, say: "There's no safer place to be than in the will of God."
That statement was made while he was serving in Liberia in the middle of a terrible civil war. He had been arrested, beaten, jailed and his house taken away by the army! Yet he knew Job's thought when Job exclaimed that God "shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening." (Job 12:14)
Jesus is He that "openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth.." (Rev 3:7)
The ark was a symbol of our Christ, "in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise." (Eph 1:13)
Let us realize today that though the world can buffet us; "in Christ" we have peace!
And no man can take away that peace!
God spoke to Noah and said, "Come thou and all thy house into the ark..." (Gen 7:1)
Christ is that "ark" today. He said, "Come unto me..." (Matt. 11:28).
Let us keep our relationship with Christ on an intimate level daily!
By this shall we be "shut .. in."
Then, we may have turmoil on the outside, but there will be peace within!
