THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

(Just received the following joke from a cousin. Old, but cute! Thanks Cuz!)

A trucker came into a truck stop cafe and placed his order. He said, 'I want three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards.'

The brand new blonde waitress, not wanting to appear stupid, went to the kitchen and said to the cook, 'This guy out there just ordered three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards..... What does he think this place is, an auto parts store?'

'No,' the cook said. 'Three flat tires ..... Mean three pancakes; a pair of headlights.. Is two eggs sunny side up; and a pair of running boards... Are 2 slices of crisp bacon!

'Oh,... OK!' said the blonde. She thought about it for a moment and then spooned up a bowl of beans and gave it to the customer.

The trucker asked, 'What are the beans for Blondie?'

'She replied, 'I thought while you were waiting for the flat tires, headlights and running boards, you might as well gas up!'

Notice the progression of events in this Scripture:
1) They prayed, 2) God shook the place where they were assembled,
3) They were "filled" with God's "Holy" Spirit,
4) Being overflowed (with His presence), they spoke boldly of God's Word.

It is by God's "Holy" Spirit we are justified in the sight of God through Christ. (1Cor 6:11)
By Him we are we are sealed for complete salvation. (Eph 1:13)
By Him we are sanctified for service to our Lord. (Rom 15:16)
And, by Him, we overflow to speak God's Word BOLDLY. (Acts 4:31)

It is possible for a few Christians to spiritually turn the world "upside down" for Jesus (Acts 17:6)!
But we need our tanks filled with God's GAS!

May we, who are saved, gather together for specific prayer, inviting His Holy Presence!
May God shake our lives in a way that we KNOW His filling!
And by His overflowing in and through us, let us speak BOLDLY the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others!

Love ya,
Bruce
