THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
The medical students were getting a lecture from the professor. He was stressing the importance of the two best qualities of a doctor:
conquering revulsion, and the power of observation.
The professor illustrated by stirring a messy and smelly substance with his finger, then licked his finger clean.
Next, he called student to do the same. The student frowned, but managed to get through the difficult moment.
The professor said, "You did well! You conquered your revulsion. However, your power of observation is not very good."
The student asked, "Why do you say that?"
The professor said, "I stirred with my forefinger, but I licked my middle one!"

The Bible is amazing in that it is the revelation of Jesus Christ. In virtually every page, one can see the characteristics of our Lord displayed. The Bible is also amazing in that it has NEVER been proven wrong...not even in one verse! The Bible is amazing for many reasons.
But the Bible is also amazing because it is always encouraging.
I think God has a wonderful purpose for this encouragement. That is: to get us out of our self, and into His will. Too often, we try to handle the world and all its difficulty in our own strength. Ordinarily, we don't think in terms of applying God's Word to the handling of our problems.
But God does not call Christians to be ordinary.
He calls them to be extraordinary!
Twenty-six times, in the book of Deuteronomy, we are told to "observe to do" the Word of God! LEARN it, and then APPLY it to our lives.
Notice the Scripture above encourages us to "be strong!" Yet, that strength is not defined in our own mental abilities or courage. It is defined as: "in the Lord, and in the power of his might."
This is not only encouragement, it is revelation!
Here's the way to face the world each day, and all the difficulties it brings.
Be prayed up.
Be studied up.
Be girded up "in the Lord, and in the power of his might."
Love ya,
Bruce
