THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Everyday there are things to be thankful for.

You can be thankful that only you and God know all the facts about you.
You can be thankful that even if you can't pay your bills, at least you do not have to be one of your creditors.
You can be thankful that there are doors of opportunity before you and oil the hinges.

Up to our chin in the muck of sin, we need God to SAVE us!
Condemned by our sinfulness, we need God to SAVE us, for we have no help in ourselves.
Sinking deep in the throes of the devil, we need God's progressive salvation daily to keep us from temptations.
Wallowing in the mire of the world and the evil of the world, we need God to save us from persecutors.

After we are saved, we still need God to "bless" His inheritance. That's US!
If God did not continually open the doors of grace and pour out blessings, we would soon fail in this world.
His restraint keeps us from sin.
His constraint draws us to Him.
His compelling sends us to tell others.

We need God to "feed" us - especially the "daily bread" of His closeness and strength. God calls us daily to the feasting table to partake of the "bread of life," His Word. He speaks to us daily by His Holy Spirit presence in our lives, and calls us ever closer to Him.

And, one day, soon perhaps, our blessed Lord will "lift" us up "forever."
He will take us out of this present world of sin, sorrow and death.
He will take us to the "blessed City" where there'll be no tears or dying because there'll be no more sin.
We shall live forever in the light of His glory and the joy of His holy presence!

David's compulsion was to pray for himself and for others, "Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever."

Let us pray the same for ourselves.
Let us pray the same for our friends and loved ones!

Love ya,
Bruce
