THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

A long time ago, a young man named William wrote a poetic play. He told his friend, "I've written a play, but I think the title is too long."
His friend asked, "What's the title?"
William said, "Julius, Grab The Girl Quickly Before She Gets Away."
His friend said, "Why no just name it "Julius Cease Her."

Eccl 12:12-13
12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

When in high school, I was required to read "Julius Ceasar." UGH! I wondered, "WHY?" Seemed to me it was a real waste of time. The lines were hard to grasp, and I couldn't get the meaning out of the play.
As I look back on it, that play probably helped me understand the Bible a little better. In the King James, the Bible is a little hard to understand. But when we "dig in" and work for the understanding, God's Holy Spirit helps us.
And, you know, once you have to "dig in" to understand something, it stays WITH you!
There are truly "many books" in the world. But NONE equal the Holy Bible!
And the Bible certainly brings us to one major conclusion: "..Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the WHOLE DUTY of man."
We were created for His pleasure. We were created to have fellowship with Him. We were created to be His companions for eternity.
In order to do those things, we must learn what God wants.
Read books; but especially read THE Book!
Learn what God wants, then DO it!
Love ya,
Bruce
