THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

The manager of the huge department store noticed a little boy sitting by the escalator. He was watching the rail as it moved downward.
The manager approached the boy and asked, "Son, may I help you, have you misplaced your mother?"
The boy said, "No. I'm just waiting for my bubble gum to come back!"

Life with Jesus doesn't carry a guarantee that we will always "feel" His presence. In fact there are some instances in our lives when we will actually "feel" an absence of God's presence!
God uses those times to strengthen us and help us grow in our relationship with Him. If we allow ourselves to base our relationship with Christ on a "feeling" we will be severely disappointed. Feelings go up and down like a roller coaster.
Neither our relationship with God nor our worship of Him should be based on "feeling" His presence. We should base our relationship and our worship of God on what we KNOW to be true.
When we don't "feel" God's presence in our lives, sometimes we do like the little boy and just sit there waiting for the "feeling" to come back.
But our relationship with God should be such that we will SEEK Him when we don't feel particularly close to Him. Pray more often and perhaps more fervently when you feel an absence of God. Study more often and deeper.
God IS there with us at all times! He has PROMISED it to be so. And NONE of God's promises have ever failed!
