THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
On his first Safari, Dale became concerned when he traveled into the deep jungle.
He sidled up to his guide and asked, "Is it true that carrying a torch will keep lions away?"
The guide said, "Yes, sir. If one carries the torch diligently and swiftly!"

1 Peter 1:3-5
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Praise God for the eternal salvation He has given to all who have surrendered to Christ!
What a wonderful God to have done all this work for sinners!
* In His "abundant mercy" He paid the price for our sin!
* By grace He has called us to be "begotten...again": born anew spiritually!
* That call brought us from hopelessness to a living hopefulness, and is exemplified in Christ being risen from the dead!
* The "inheritance" we receive by being in His family is "incorruptible, ..undefiled, and fadeth not away!"
* We already have a place "reserved in heaven!"
* And we are "kept by the power of God" until He calls us home!
* He keeps us by the power of "faith" which is the gift of God Himself, by His Holy Spirit indwelling our hearts!
Salvation is the work of God. And He works in us to bring the Good News of salvation to others. Let us praise God, and speak of His great salvation to others today!
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Eph 2:10)
Carry the torch diligently and swiftly!
