THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
A very avid baseball fan, the husband took his new wife to the game. It was her first trip to see a baseball game.
The home team was down by 2 runs and one man was on base. Then the batter hit a low line drive to right-center. It was going to be hard to catch. But the right fielder came running toward the ball, bent over until his glove almost touched the ground, and made a sensational catch, rolling over on the ground, then standing up and tossing the ball to second and getting the runner out!
All the fans of the home team began to moan.
The wife said, "What's the matter, Dear?"
Husband, "Didn't you see him catch that ball?"
Wife, "Yes, but isn't that what he's out there for?"

Col 3:3-4
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Christ is our LIFE. That's what He's there for!
He is the GIVER of life. Man only has power of procreation. But "..without Him was not anything made that was made" (John 1:3). Every soul conceived is a miracle of God. For man only provides flesh and bone, but it is Christ Who gives LIFE.
Christ is the LIGHT of life. When we sinned, and turned ourselves into darkness, "..in Him was LIFE; and that life was the LIGHT of men" (John 1:4). His light draws us out of the darkness to Him. By Christ, we are SAVED from the darkness of sin. That same voice which called Lazarus from the dark tomb, calls us out of deadness and into life.
Christ is the SUSTENANCE of life. He Who is "the bread of life" (John 6:35, 48) gives us strength by which to live in the difficulties of this world. The more we learn of Him, the better equipped we are to face the adversities of this life.
Christ is the JOY of life. When we face situations which bring sorrow to our soul, the joy of knowing Christ overshadows the sorrows. The joy of knowing a secured place in His eternal heaven makes all the sorrows of life seem minute.
Christ is the PURPOSE of our lives. He is our hope of glory, the inspiration for our actions, and the central thought around which all others circle. For what other purpose do we live except to please our Lord and to receive the joy of His affections?
There is nothing in this world which can satisfy that longing, yearning in our souls. Only Christ can fulfill that God implanted desire to KNOW Him.
Come to Him daily.
HE is LIFE!
That's what He's there for!
Love ya,
Bruce
