THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Little Johnny's kindergarten class was on a field trip to their local police station where they saw pictures tacked to a bulletin board of the 10 most wanted criminals.

One of the youngsters pointed to a picture and asked if it really was the photo of a wanted person.

"Yes," said the policeman. "The detectives want very badly to capture him."

Little Johnny asked, "Why didn't you keep him when you took his picture ?"

John 21:12
Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

The song, "Come And Dine," reflects the closeness and intimacy which our Lord wishes to share with us. The table Jesus spreads is accessed through prayer and Bible study.
"Jesus has a table spread
Where the saints of God are fed,
He invites His chosen people, “Come and dine”;
With His manna He doth feed
And supplies our every need:
O ’tis sweet to sup with Jesus all the time!

Refrain
“Come and dine,” the Master calleth, “Come and dine”;
You may feast at Jesus’ table all the time;
He Who fed the multitude, turned the water into wine,
To the hungry calleth now, “Come and dine.”

The song, and the Scripture above, also reflect the fact that closeness with Jesus will give us strength in our Christian walk. They also reflect unity with other believers. We may not all have the same needs, but Christ meets our every individual needs. And He gives us unity with one another.

To surrender to Christ is to receive life. And to fellowship with Christ is to have strength for service to Him.

If you would have closeness with Christ; if you would have unity with other believers; if you would have strength to serve Him - COME AND DINE!

Love ya,
Bruce
