THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A real "Southerner" knows instinctively that the best solace given to a neighbor who has trouble is: a big plate of hot fried chicken with come cold 'tater salad!

If the trouble is a real crises....the "Southerner" knows to add a great big bowl
of "nanner puddin"!

SCRIPTURE_____________________________________________________

2 Cor 1:3-4
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

THOUGHT_________________________________________________________

Of course, most people realize that the gift of food in a crises, is not as important as the genuine concern behind the gift.
Comforting one who is facing difficulty is an expression of our concern and care.

For the Christian, God is our "Comforter" (John 14:26).
God's Person (in His Holy Spirit) comes alongside us to express His care.
He "comforteth us" by His PRESENCE and PRESENTS.

His care is COMPLETE;
because it is expressed "in ALL our tribulation..."

His care is CONSTANT;
because it is expressed "in ANY trouble."

And, God's care is CAUSATIVE;
because, we as Christians, are to comfort others by this same "comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."

Show others your genuine concern for their difficulties by your
PRESENCE and PRESENTS!

Love ya,
Bruce
