THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Southerners know instinctively that the best gesture of solace
for a neighbor who's got trouble is a plate of hot fried chicken and a
big bowl of cold potato salad.
If the neighbor's trouble is a real crisis, they also know to add a large bowl of banana puddin'!

2 Cor 1:3-4
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

_______THOUGHT_________________________________________________________
God is "the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort."
He grants the greatest of all "comfort" in "our Lord Jesus Christ!"
For, it is by Him that we know God has paid the ransom for our sin, and will forgive and save us.
Moreover, God "comforteth us in ALL our tribulation."
The verb "comforteth" is present perfect tense!
God's comfort toward us is active and transitive.
He is continually extending His "mercies" toward us by His Holy Spirit.
CONSTANTLY God is comforting us through ALL our difficulties!
His Holy Spirit presence gives us indescribable peace!
By these truths, Christians are able to "comfort them which are in any trouble."
When your neighbor has difficulty, it is an OPEN DOOR to share the love of Jesus!
So, the next time your neighbor has a problem, take them some food.
Then, look for an opportunity to share "the Bread of life" with them!
Love ya,
Bruce
