THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Egotism is the art of seeing qualities in oneself that others don't see. OR,
that which enables a man to think he's "in the groove" when he's really in a rut!

Proverbs 19
1 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

Proverbs 19 begins by making comparisons.
First comparison:
The poor person with integrity is better off than the fool who is perverse in his speech.
Even a poor person who lives with integrity is a better example in society than a rich person, or educated person, who is constantly twisting truth.
Second comparison:
A person who has no knowledge of eternity will go through life without consideration for what happens afterward.
That person actually "hasteth with his feet" to an eternal destination unknown!
Both perverseness and lack of knowledge bring a heart to sadness.
Both conditions are the result of sin in the life.
To have a soul, and have no knowledge of the eternal value of the soul is "not good." To not consider God is "foolishness."
And to not consider God is to be AGAINST God (Matthew 12:30).
Let us live with integrity, and
let us seek the knowledge of God through His Word.
Love ya,
Bruce
