THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

It was a very large church wedding.
The couple were at the front, the organ was playing, and everyone got really quiet.
Four men took the offering plates and began to move into the congregation.
Quietly the pastor said, "I know this seems quite unusual, but the father of the bride requested it."

1 Chron 9:33
"And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night."

I can relate to the costly nature of weddings nowadays, and I can imagine the father of the bride needing help.

I can also relate to the fact that our Father in heaven paid the greatest cost for our marriage to Him! Our Lord, Jesus Christ, gave His life upon Calvary's cross for our redemption.

For this, God deserves CONSTANT PRAISE!

Notice that in our Scripture, God provided for CONTINUAL praise in the tabernacle. The Lord appointed EVERYONE to a specific job or duty. Some were appointed to the office of SINGING.

Note that our Scripture says they were "free." They were free from all other duties because this was their primary function. And they fulfilled that function "day and night!"

We are constant debtors to our Lord for His eternal salvation.
We should be constant praisers to our Lord for that salvation.

God deserves our praise for all that He has done.
He created the universe.
He created us.
And though He knew we would be sinners, He was merciful to give us life.
He created a way in which we could be forgiven and redeemed.
That way included Jesus giving His life at Calvary as a substitute for our reasonable death.

Ps 150:6 "Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise YE the LORD!"
KJV
