THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Jack was coming out of church one day, and the preacher was standing at the door as he always is to shake hands.

The preacher grabbed Jack by the hand and pulled him aside. The pastor said to him, "You need to join the Army of the Lord!"
Jack replied, "I'm already in the Army of the Lord, Pastor."

Pastor questioned, "How come I almost never see you except at Christmas and Easter?"

Jack whispered back, "I'm in the secret service."

A great thought with which to face the New Year! We certainly have much to THANK God for when we PRAY! He has been very gracious to receive us, merciful to forgive us, and loving to call us His children!

The Bible says very much about prayer. If God sees fit to tell us so much about it, then we must have great need FOR it.

Prayer is the crying of an infant in Christ to His Lord for the supply of life - the Word of God.
Prayer is the call of a soldier in Christ for marching orders.
Prayer is the last gasp of a believer in death yielding to the fullness of His Lord.

All through our lives we have need of prayer. Have you thought about PLANNING prayer for 2006?
Plan a time when you can be alone with God and let no one disturb that time.
That time is vital to your being able to cope with life's complexities.

Pray that you will have and live in a closer walk with Christ.
Pray that you will grow in your Christian walk, and be more effective as a soldier.
Pray that God will use your talents for His glory.
Pray that you will have power to witness to those who know not our Lord.
Pray that you will be a testimony and encouraging example to other believers.

Plan to pray!
Pray to plan!

Love ya,
Bruce
