THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
The waiter brought the steak to the diner in a very busy restaurant.
The diner exploded, "Waiter! Didn't I tell you 'WELL DONE?'"
With great calmness, the waiter replied, "THANK YOU, SIR! I hardly ever receive compliments!"

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

The word "exhort" means to invite or encourage.
Our text, then, encourages Christians to be and act in spiritually mature fashion.
With a genuine demeanor of kindness, we are to effectively manage our speech.
James says, "But the tongue can no man tame..." (James 3:8)
However, we are certainly to TRY!
An "unruly" speaker is quickly diffused with a "ruled," or controlled tongue.
A "feebleminded" (or fainthearted) person is encouraged with kind statements.
A "weak" Christian can be comforted by gentle words.
And "all men" are encouraged by someone who speaks with determined gentility.
Remember today, my Christian friends:
The movement of the tongue is best controlled by a determined spirit.
Prayerfully consider your mannerisms in conversation each morning.
Then, most of your responses during the day, will be controlled by a willful attitude of gentleness.
Love ya,
Bruce
