"Too bad that all the people who know how to run the country are driving taxi-cabs or cutting hair."
((George Burns))

Ps 37:1-4
1 A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
KJV

Most folk give very little thought to religion, let alone Christianity. They are too busy in life trying to please self to notice there can be joy in just living for God.

Perhaps to the unbeliever, the above Scripture sounds surprising - maybe even weird.

Even some so-called believers in church sorta LOOK like they never have joy: never smiling, never exuberant. Sometimes the majority look like they just got through eating a batch of green persimmons. Most of these find their religiosity a duty or service, or even necessity.

And yes, our relationship with Christ demands duty, service and necessity. But to believers, it is a "DELIGHT" to live for our Lord Jesus!

Christians (and I'm talking about genuinely surrendered, born-again, washed-in-the-blood, sealed-in-the-Spirit believers in Christ) find it a joy to just TRUST in the Lord and to live for His glory!

Two things very important to learn from this Scripture:
1) To TRUST in the Lord, and to live for His glory means that God will take care of you! David once said, "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."
Ps 37:25
2) If we allow Christ to take control of our lives, then our desires change to His desires. When our desires are changed to godly desires, then God GIVES the desires of our hearts!

Believer, may I encourage you this morning?
Go -- HAVE FUN living for Jesus!

Love ya,
Bruce
