THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Sometimes, "brushing up on manners" doesn't help a child behave.
At that point, the brush should probably be moved DOWN!
Seeing the way children act these days, one thing is obvious.
Most parents embarked on the "sea of matrimony" without a paddle!

Prov 22:5-6
5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

_______THOUGHT_________________________________________________________
Children and youth have thoughts and desires toward those things which hold "thorns and snares."
The reason they think that way is because they haven't yet learned that there are boundaries, which when crossed, present problems.
Children and youth haven't yet grown in their minds enough to realize there are disastrous results from certain behavior antics.
They need "TRAINING!"
Elsewhere (Proverbs 22:15), we are told:
"Foolishness is bound in the heart of the child; but the rod of correction will drive it far from him."
Training should include positive support for correct behavior patterns.
And, training should include negative action for incorrect behavior patterns.
The parent that "trains" the child, will include corporal punishment at times when it is necessary.
Foolish thoughts are often driven from the mind when the "board of education" is applied to the bottom.
God gives us a very positive outlook for correct training.
A child will REMEMBER the boundaries when he/she is older.
And, the child will ABIDE by the boundaries, knowing that overstepping them is "foolish."
