THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
An elderly lady was met at the door of the sanctuary by an usher. With a big smile, he asked, "Where may I seat you ma'am?"
She said, "On the very front row, if it is possible."
The usher said, "Ma'am, you really don't want to do that, the preacher is very boring."
She said, "Young man! Do you know who I am?"
He said, "No, Ma'am."
She said, "I'm the pastor's MOTHER!"
He said, "Do you know who I am?"
She said, "No."
He said, "GOOD!" and walked out the front door.

Matt 5:37
"But let your communication be, Yea , yea ; Nay, nay : for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil."
1 Cor 15:33
"Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners."

It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one. Most people are understanding and will not be offended at what you say; but they might be offended at how you say it.
James says that the tongue is a little member, but it kindles a great fire (James 3:5). Sometimes we engage the "motor" on the tongue before the mind has thought about what to say, and how to say it properly. Our communications may "corrupt good manners!"
As born-again, washed-in-the-blood, sealed-in-His-Spirit, praying and Bible studying believers, let us try to speak positive things like encouragement and inspiration. Let us not speak critically, nor in a negative manner.
When we come to church, our focus should be upon two things: WORSHIP and FELLOWSHIP.
Let us speak in relation to worship of God.
Let us speak in relation to edifying our fellow Christians.
Today, Lord, help me determine to let my tongue speak: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. Help me, Lord, to consider what I say, and how I say it. And let me speak always with grace, seasoned with salt.
Love ya,
Bruce
