THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

My cousin Jeanie was having a tough time with her 4-year-old.
Sometimes, he just would NOT mind properly.

One day, she sent him to his room for a "time out."
Later, while walking down the hallway, she noticed her shoes outside her room.
She stopped to pick them up.

They were GLUED to the carpet!

Just as she realized they were totally stuck, her 4-year-old stuck his head out of the bedroom door.

With a sheepish look, he said, "Well, I was MAD at you!"

WONDERFUL CREDIT to Jeanie!!
Instead of being irate, she covered her mouth, and ran into her bedroom to keep from cracking up laughing!!

1 John 2:15-16
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

THOUGHT_________________________________________________________

Anger is one of those things that are "in the world."
And, it's in our worldly heart.
It's easy to just "turn loose" and "let fly!"
But we are taught from the Word of God to REGULATE our emotions.

Regulating our emotions is a DAILY battle!
It requires humble submissiveness to God's express will.
It also requires determined prayerfulness in order to receive the help we need.

How do you handle that feeling of instant anger?
I must confess, it's a great struggle for me!

Last night, someone sent me a virus on my Facebook account.
The virus hijacked my Facebook identity and sent some messages to my friends.
Immediately, I was angry at the person from whom I had received the virus.
But then, I found that person had their identity hijacked just like me.

Yes, anger is a real emotion from within ourselves.
And, it is difficult to deal with at times.
But, as Christians, we have tremendous help from our Lord, Jesus!

Be prepared!
Study the Bible diligently, and learn what God says about those instant emotions.
Pray daily, asking God to help you control them.
Be submissive to God's will, and plan to REGULATE those emotions when they pop up.

Love ya, Bruce
