THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

Death and dying is a subject that is always on the back burner of people's minds from preschoolers to the oldest adult.
Some 9-year-old children were asked what they thought of death and dying.
Jim said, "When you die, they bury you in the ground and your soul goes to heaven, but your body can't go to heaven because it's too crowded up there already."
Judy said, "Only the good people go to heaven. The other people god where it's hot all the time like Florida."
John said, "Maybe I'll die someday, but I hope I don't die on my birthday because it's no fun to celebrate your birthday if you're dead."
Marsha said, "When you die, you don't have to do homework in heaven, unless your teacher is there too."

Isa 5:14-16
14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
15 And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:
16 But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.

Yesterday, I spoke to a man about Jesus. He said he believed in a supreme being, but he didn't believe the Bible. To him it was "hogwash."
I asked him if Jesus came tonight would he be ready to face Him in judgment. He said, "I'll play my cards and He'll play His. But I have a TRUMP card. I've paid my dues."
It is because of that PRIDE that hell is getting BIGGER everyday! God is Creator and Owner of all things. What could any man possibly offer God to say that he had "paid his dues?"
My heart cries, and my prayers are offered to God continually for this man. Once I was like him. But thanks to Jesus, my life has been changed. Thank God, Jesus came into the world to save sinners. And I, like Paul, must say "of whom I am CHIEF!" But Christ can make a DIFFERENCE in our lives when we surrender to Him.
Ultimately, we shall all stand before the Holy and Righteous Almighty God Who gave us life and being.
To those who refuse His Lordship of their lives, Jesus will say, "Depart from me, I never knew you." And hell will get larger!
I know that Jesus could transform the man to whom I spoke yesterday. But the man must surrender to the Lord.
Pray for those who think hell is going to be a picnic!
