THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><>
The economist was asked to speak to a group of local businessmen about the recession. Before he began his speech, he tacked up a huge white piece of paper on the bulletin board. The paper had a single black spot right in the center.
The economist asked each business man to tell what he saw. Invariably, each of them said, "A black spot."
The economist then said, "Gentlemen, there IS a black spot there. But none of you mentioned the big white piece of paper. And that's my speech."

Heb 12:2-3
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
(KJV)

Life is full of distractions like the little "black spot" on the economist's piece of paper. All too often, we find ourselves focusing upon distractions and our perspective upon life as a whole is lessened.
For the proper perspective upon life, let us focus upon the Giver of life...the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Whatever we put at the "center" of our lives will be the "focal point," and our plans will be made in respect to the "center."
Jesus was also faced with many "distractions": temptation, affliction, prejudice, animosity, schemers and dreamers. But He ENDURED them all because of His FOCUS upon the goal.
As a Christian, our goal is to represent Christ to the world.
Let us focus on the goal, and plan our lives accordingly.
