13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

From "Dr." Peter, we have a prescription for daily living.
He says, "Gird up the loins of your MIND." Get ready for fighting! You are bombarded in the mind daily with millions of thougths of unrighteousness. It is a constant battle to "Be ... holy!"
Remember, you have a "hope" that endures to the end! It is that hope which is implanted by God's Holy Spirit indwelling you because you are a child of God through Christ. This "hope" makes you know that at the last day, Christ will appear for vindication and eternal salvation of all that believe.
Therefore, since you are a child of God, be "obedient children."
Don't allow yourself to be distracted from what God wants you to be!
Bring your body and mind under subjection to the Father's will in your life!
Yes, as human beings, we all have the propensity to sin.
But, as Christians, we have the power within us to "Be...holy!"
We have the power of God's Holy Spirit within us!
And all we need to do is surrender our will to His will!
Be ON GUARD! Be DILIGENT!
DON'T be DISTRACTED!
