THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

After being away on business for a week before the Christmas Holiday, Bob thought it would be nice to bring his wife a gift.

"How about some perfume?" he asked the cosmetics woman at the Department Store. So, she showed him a bottle of $50 perfume.

"That's a bit much," said Bob. The woman then returned with a smaller bottle costing $30.

Bob complained, "That’s still a lot of money."

Growing disgusted, the woman brought out her smallest little bottle of $15 perfume.

Bob grew even more restless and replied, "No no… What I mean is I'd like to see something really cheap!"

So the clerk handed him a mirror!!

Proverbs 3:5-8
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

When I was a young boy in Royal Ambassadors, we learned these verses. They have special meaning to me.

To "trust" God means to "trust" His Word for guiding our decision making.
It is far wiser to trust God than our "own understanding."

If we "Acknowledge" God in every part of our lives, He will be the One Who guides us through life. Only God knows how to guide us through life to eternal joy in glory with Him.

Virtually every decision in life should be made by using God's Word as a guideline (verse 7).

Health is important to all of us. Doctors have recently said that we should not eat "fat" because it is UNhealthy. God has been telling us that for thousands of years.

God's Word not only guides us in healthy living physically, but spiritually. It is not good to eat the "fat" of sin in life either. It is dangerous to the soul.

Don't trust your MIRROR to make decisions!
TRUST God in all things.
ACKNOWLEDGE Him as Master of your life in all that you do.
And, HE shall "direct thy paths!"

Now, THAT is REAL "health!"

Love ya,
Bruce
