THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

When your house is unlocked, most folk still ring the doorbell and wait for your invitation to come in. However, the devil enters the spiritual house that is unlocked, not waiting for any invitation!

Hos 11:3-4
3 I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
4 I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.

God has DRAWN us! His Holy Spirit first moves upon us with conviction, then with convincing. Like a magnet, the love of God DRAWS us to Him.

First, for SALVATION. In our text above, God said, "I taught them to go, taking them by their arms," as one would a little child. And God also said, "..they knew not that I healed them." By His Spirit, God LEADS us to Jesus for forgiveness and acceptance. We must come and be led as a little child: believing, trusting, faithing.

Second, He draws us for COMMUNION with Him. Once we come to Christ, and sit at His feet, He invites us to a full supper. There is so much waiting for us at His table. Why do we so often hold back? We feel we are not worthy! But He has given us the authority to become "sons of God," and He has allowed us to become bone of His bone, and flesh of His flesh. God wants us to draw CLOSER to Him in a personal, intimate relationship. He desires that we EXPERIENCE His love every day.

Third, God draws us for GROWTH. He desires that we exercise faith in Him. We need to grow to the point of Abraham's faith: believe it when God says it, apply it to our lives, and act upon it in our decisions. We "busy" ourselves, like Martha, with "much serving." But what God wants is for us to grow in our relationship with Him so that everything we do is affected by that relationship.

The manner in which God has drawn and is drawing us is "with bands of LOVE!" He cares, and He expresses His care in blessings.

He has treated us with kindness, removing the "yoke" of sin from us so that we can experience His "food" more wonderfully.

Let us receive the drawing of God's Holy Spirit, and draw nigh unto Him!!

Love ya,
Bruce
