1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

Light came from God in the beginning: "Let there be light..." (Genesis 1:3)
Life came from God in the beginning: "In HIM was life..." (John 1:4 above)
When God spoke light into existence, it penetrated the darkness of the world
(Genesis 1:2-3).
When God in Jesus entered the world, He penetrated the darkness of the world and brought life which gave genuine spiritual light to mankind (John 1:4 above).
Those who surrender to and follow Christ have "the light of life" (John 8:12).
Jesus is the spiritual light that leads mankind to eternal life in Him!
Light penetrates darkness.
Physical light keeps us from fumbling, stumbling and falling in the darkness.
Jesus penetrates the darkness of the sinfulness of man.
Spiritual light keeps us from fumbling, stumbling and falling in the darkness of sin!
When "the Light of life" shines through a person, the person acts as a prism.
Beautiful colors flow outward into the world: rightness, goodness, holiness, purity, honesty, godliness, kindness, meekness, and a host of others.
Light is essential to living without blindness.
Christian, "YE are the light of the world." (Matthew 5:14)
Ponder on it!
And act accordingly!
