THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

The little boy was weary from so much homework. He asked Dad, "What is the use of all this education?"
Dad said, "There's nothing like it son. Once you become educated you can worry about things all over the world!"

Jeremiah 23:28
" ... What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD. "

Sometimes, people educate themselves beyond the simplicity of the Word of God.

God has revealed in His Word all that we need to know about salvation and living according to his will. There is no NEW revelation. God's Word is complete!

God had revealed through Jeremiah that the nation of Judah was about to be beaten and captured. His true prophet spoke the true Word from God.

But others were saying they "dreamed" that God was bringing peace to the land and not war. If you had been there in that day, WHICH of the prophets would you believe? The TEST of the true prophet is if his prophecy lines up with the Word of God! False prophecy is "chaff." True prophecy is "wheat." The differenc is that "chaff" dries up and blows away with the wind, but "wheat" produces wheat!

God had already told these people dozens of times that if they became corrupt He would take their land away from them and they would again serve in bondage. Jeremiah came showing them their sinfulness, and prophesying what God had already said. That lines up with the Word of God!

The other prophets were trying to introduce a "new revelation." Recently, there's been a "new thing" introduced into the Christian church. It is called "slain in the Spirit." Let me just say that NOWHERE in Scripture will you find such a thing. And God will NOT have His Word "added to" by some dreamer!

"Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners!" (1Tim. 1:15)
"ALL have sinned." (Rom. 3:23)
Therefore, ALL need Christ.

ONLY when we draw near to the cross do we find Christ. And as we draw NEARER to the cross, we find ourselves closer to Christ.

Don't worry about things all over the world. Just come to Christ!

Love ya,
Bruce
