THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

When I was in the 7th grade, Dad bought a chain saw for my birthday. I had been using an ole "buck saw." Some of you may know what that is. It's a small oval saw, that one can use to cut down trees.

Dad told me that where I had been cutting down one tree per day with the buck saw, I could now cut down and cut up FOUR trees with this chain saw.

I took it out the next day, and was only able to cut one tree. I told Dad, "That thing don't work!"

So the next day, we loaded it up in the truck and went to the saw shop. Dad told the man the saw didn't work.

The man said, "Hmmmm, lemme see." Then he pushed a button, pulled the cord and the saw went 'BAAARRRRUUUMMM!"

I said, "WOW! What was THAT?"

Ps 113:7-8
7 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;
8 That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

God's purpose is to elevate man to become "princes" with "His people."

God made man from dust. "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Gen 2:7)

We had a lowly beginning, and then things got WORSE! Man became "needy" because he lowered himself to the "dunghill" through sin.

But our Gracious Creator came to "raise" us up, and to set us by His side eternally. When a lowly defiled sinner such as you and I surrenders to Christ and pleads forgiveness, He elevates us to new heights!

Praise God! When we are saved, we are no longer mere created beings with lowly and defiled state. We become SONS OF GOD!

1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:...
1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

It is through surrender to Christ as Lord that ".. we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father." (Eph 2:18)

Thank You Lord for creating me: something from nothing.
Thank You Lord for when I defiled Your creation, you came to give forgiveness.
Thank You Lord for allowing me to be adopted into Your family.
Thank You Lord for the access to Your Person by Your Holy Spirit.
Help me Lord, that I may be filled with Him and glorify You in this day.

Love ya,
Bruce
