THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed his desire to become a great writer.

When asked to define "great" he said, "I want to write stuff that the whole world will read, stuff that people will react to on a truly emotional level, stuff that will make them scream, cry, howl in pain and anger!"

He now writes error messages for Microsoft Corporation.

Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof:.....

Think of that lowly worm, the caterpillar.
His "end" was being a beautiful butterfly!

Think of the blackness of coal.
Its "end" is being a diamond!

Think of what you are now.
Your "end" is to be "like" Christ and "with" Christ forever!

Today, you are wrapped in clay. As such you are a weak vessel.
But one day, the "mortal must put on immortality!" (1Corinthians 15:53)

Today, you are wrapped in sin and sickness.
But one day, the "corruptible shall have put on incorruption!" (1Corinthians 15:54)

Jesus came into this world and began as a little baby. But He endured the hardships of life, and "abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.." (2 Tim 1:10) And "as he is, so are we in this world." (1 John 4:17)

We are abiding, waiting, watching, doing .... until He comes!
Then, we shall be "like Him!" (1John 3:2)

I once heard quarterback Danny Wuerfield testify to a group of young people. He pointed out, "Being a quarterback is a lot like being a Christian. It's not where you're at, it's where you are going! It's not having arrived, it's being, doing, ...."

So what if life is tough!
ENDURE! Endure with the hope of Christ in your heart!
And while you're enduring, share the good news of Jesus!

Love ya,
Bruce
