THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Ernest usually went to the mall with his wife. His wife, Florence, always said she'd rather go with him than to kiss him good-bye. But this time, she kissed him good-bye, and let him go by himself.
About 2 hours later, a news flash came on the TV. A car was going down the interstate the wrong way!
Florence knew it was about time for Ernest to come home. She called him on his cell phone and said, "Honey. Be careful. There's a car going the wrong way on the interstate."
Ernest said, "Honey. It's not ONE car, there's HUNDREDS of 'em!"

Eccl 10:5-7
5 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler:
6 Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place.
7 I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.

Going the wrong way on a one-way is not the only error on this earth!
Solomon, even in his day, recognized that there is great error in the world because of rulers.
Perhaps the greatest error that Solomon saw was the fact that rulers allowed "folly" to be given "dignity." Even in Solomon's day, men of disrespectful character, destitute of morals, were sometimes raised to public offices. Thus, we see "the rich sit in low place," "servants" were set on horses, and "princes" walked.
My how the world has changed, yet it has NOT changed at all!
It is frequent in our world today for poorer people to be raised to places of authority in government. Then, they use the government to care for their poor family and friends, by introducing legislation which supplies ill-used funding through taxation. This favoritism has nearly been the downfall of many otherwise prosperous nations.
We also see today, people rising to power and influence that live contradictory lifestyles. Some, claiming high moral character, declare they believe that marriage should be defined as a union between a man and a woman. But then they will support legislation which forces others to give benefits to same-sex partners.
Some will claim they think gambling is reprehensible, yet they will form legislation which makes government the biggest promoter of gambling.
Yes, our world has changed a lot since Solomon.
However, it seems the error of moral character in leaders is the same.
There are two things which Christians can do that will effect change in the situation.
PRAY!
And live lives that reflect moral character.
Let's not let the sin of "folly" be given "dignity!"
Love ya,
Bruce
