THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Thought for the day:
Consider there have been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theatre of operations over the last 22 months. This gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000.
The rate in Washington, D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000. This means you are 25% more likely to be shot in our nation's capitol (which has some of the strictest gun laws in the world) than you would be as a soldier in Iraq.
CONCLUSION: We should immediately pull out of Washington, D.C.

2 Peter 1:4
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

CAUTION: LIVING ON EARTH IS HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH!
HOWEVER: Through yielding to Christ, we are given "exceeding great and precious promises!" These promises are received through an experiential relationship with our Lord.
One of these precious promises is that we might "be partakers of the divine nature!" Having been "born again," we are given the "divine nature" through the indwelling of God's Holy Spirit in our lives.
Another promise for Christians is that we have "escaped the corruption" that is in this present world. Note that that "corruption" in the world comes "through lust." It is the "deceitful,..." and "desperately wicked" (Jer. 17:9) heart of man that causes the corruption in this world.
We can ESCAPE the corruption of the world by PARTAKING of the Divine nature. We experience His nature through: Bible study, prayer, fellowship with other Christians, witnessing, and ministering to others.
CONCLUSION: The more you do the things God calls for Christians to do, the less you will be corrupted by the world.
And don't forget: Soon, we SHALL ESCAPE the corruption of this world by His deliverance of our souls to Heaven.
Love ya,
Bruce
