THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Here is the LOST CHAPTER IN GENESIS....
Adam was walking around the garden of Eden feeling very lonely, so God asked him,
"What is wrong with you?"
Adam said he didn't have anyone to talk to.
God said that He was going to make Adam a companion and that it would be a woman.
He said,
"This person will gather food for you, cook for you, and when you discover clothing she'll wash it for you. She will always agree with every decision you make. She will bear your children and never ask you to get up in the middle of the night to take care of them. She will not nag you and will always be the first to admit she was wrong when you've had a disagreement. She will never have a headache and will freely give you love and passion whenever you need it."
Adam asked God, "What will a woman like this cost?"
God replied, "An arm and a leg."
Then Adam asked, "What can I get for a rib?"
The rest is history..

Ps 62:5
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

Well, I've known one woman who for 44 years has been really close to what God said He'd give Adam for "an arm and a leg." She's my wife.
However, our expectations of life and people don't always meet the standards which we'd like to see.
Life is sometimes cruel. If we're looking to the world to meet our expectations, we'll be sorely disappointed.
But if we look to Jesus to fulfill our expectations, we have HOPE!
In Christ we may constantly draw on the "bank of faith."
In Christ we may see our needs met by God's lovingkindness.
In Christ we may have expectations completely beyond this world!
Our expectations are:
to attend school when we reach the age of five,
to drive when we reach the age of 16,
to graduate high school when we are 17 or 18,
to (hopefully) reach retirement age and "take it easy,"
BUT THEN WHAT?
This world offers no more!
But Christ offers eternal life with Him in a place called heaven!
Let me wait not upon the world, nor upon people for my expectations.
Let me wait upon CHRIST!
Love ya,
Bruce
