THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

An evangelist had been preaching revival in a local church.
On the last night he was to be with them, a lady approached him.

She said, "Dr. _________, it's so good to have had you with us. We just didn't know what sin was until you came!"

A man in Knoxville, Tenn. was driving down the road and threw a beer can out of his car. The blue/red lights of a police car came on behind him. So he SPED UP!

f But the police car stayed close behind him, so he accelerated even faster! Soon he lost control, hit a parked car in the side, flew over that car destroyed a fence, and went right through the front entrance of a business.

He spent 3 months in intesive care in the local hospital, and paid over $300,000 in damages.
Why? Because he was running from EXPOSURE!

"The sorrow of the world worketh DEATH!"
"Thou shalt not be EXPOSED," said Leanord Bacon, "is NOT one of God's commandments, and no one can be saved by trying to KEEP it!"
In our world today, most folk are sorry they got "caught," but insist on self-justification.
Then they persist in sin.

What is required for salvation is contrition, which is sorrow that brings confession and repentance of sin.
You see, "godly sorrow" brings repentance and leads to salvation!

Sin breaks our relationship with God, and causes our prayers to be unheard.
Isaiah 59:2 says, "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear."

Let us Realize that sin offends God, and that OUR sin was the reason Christ died on the cross.
Then, let us REPENT of that sin in order to Receive God's forgiveness and reconciliation.

Love ya,
Bruce
