THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Papaw Jack took his granddaughter Tillie fishing.
After awhile, he turned toward her and asked, "Tillie, are you having any luck?"
She said, "No, Papaw. My worm is just 'hanging out.' He isn't really trying!"

Gal 6:9-10
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Verse 9 above is an illustration from farming.
We "shall reap" looks toward the harvest.
However, the harvest will be scant "if we faint" in the work of farming:
plowing, planting, cultivating, etc.
From the example, Paul carries diligence into Christianity.
Indeed, as Jesus said, "The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few.."
(Luke 10:2)
Jesus also said, "The seed is the word of God." (Luke 8:11)
We should liken our Christian life to farming!
Plow - by forming relationships with those around you: both in the world, and in the church.
Plant - tell the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus.
Cultivate - continue to work the relationships formed.
The world always needs to hear the "word" (seed) for salvation to take place.
The church always needs to hear the "word" (seed) for encouragement in faith.
We must not be "weary," nor should we "faint" in the work!
Let us not be like Tillie's worm!
Love ya,
Bruce
