THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

Once Abraham Lincoln was debating Douglas. Douglas accused him of being "two-faced."
Lincoln calmly looked at the audience and said, "I'll leave the answer to my audience. If I were two-faced, would I be wearing THIS one?"

It is said that "love makes the world go 'round."
It could also be said that faith is the foundation upon which the soul is built. How do we receive "faith in God?"
By surrender to Jesus.
We operate our lives on the basis of faith everyday.
A young child jumps off the porch into his father's arms because he "faiths" that the father will catch him.
Everytime you cross a bridge, you have faith that it will stand long enough for you to cross.
Spiritual faith is quite another matter. It is the foundation for eternal life. The Greek word for faith is pistis. It means persuasion, moral conviction. More specifically it means reliance upon Christ for forgiveness and eternal salvation.
Man in his normal, carnal condition does not have faith.
Faith is a gift from God given upon surrender to Christ.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8)
But faith, once received, is the ability to cling to God. In John 3:16, Jesus told Nicodemus, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
The word "believeth" in John 3:16, translates the Greek word pisteuo which is a derivitive of pistis. The word "believeth" in John 3:16 means "to entrust to." We must entrust our lives to Jesus in order to receive the gift of faith from God.
Do you have FAITH?
Love ya,
Bruce
