Mark 16:9-11
9 He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven devils.
10 And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.
11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.

One will remember Mary Magdalene. She is mentioned in this reference and in Luke 8:1-2 as being one healed by our Lord.

She became a faithful believer and servant. In Luke 8:1-2, it is evident that she became prominent for service during the days of our Lord's ministry. Not only did she follow Jesus during His ministry, but she even followed him to the cross. She watched as His body was taken down, and followed to see where it was laid. And on resurrection morning, she was first at the tomb.

It is she to whom Jesus appeared first after his resurrection. This understanding is important for you and me today.

Mary Magdalene was a faithful and watchful believer. As Spurgeon says, "she was found a maniac and made a minister." She was healed of seven devils, which is the number of completion. Therefore, she was FULLY possessed, but became fully HEALED!

You and I have been fully healed of our complete possession of sin! What a great God of grace we have! He found us in the fullness of sin, but offered us the fullness of life! When we repented and surrendered to Him, He washed our sins away, and sealed us in His Spirit!

By doing so, He made us witness to the resurrection of life from deadness, and ministers of His grace.

Let us be faithful.
Let us be watchful.
Then we shall be first to witness His return!

Love ya,
Bruce
