THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Shhhh! Don't breathe a word about this to my Dad. He really wouldn't care, but I don't think he wants this story published too much.
It was 1949, I was six. We got our first "automatic wringer" washing machine. You know, the old style wringer on top of the machine. Two rollers met together and an electric motor would pull the clothes through, thus "wringing them out."
I was on the back porch "helping" Mom with the clothes. I put a shirt in the automatic wringer and my fingers got hung. It started pulling my arm up into the rollers!! I thought it was gonna eat me alive!!
So I yelled really loud!!
Dad was in the "outhouse" about 50 yards downhill from the house.
Have you ever seen a man trying to run with his drawers down around his ankles?

Some of you older folk can remember and relate to the above story. Some of you younger folk will just have to use your imagination!
Now the IMPORTANT thing is, when I yelled because I was in trouble, Dad RAN TO HELP! Many times in my life, I've called Dad for help. He's ALWAYS dropped what he was doing and come to my aid.
And I know that even today, if I called Dad needing help, even at 88 years of age, he would IMMEDIATELY COME RUNNING!
And that's true of our Lord, Jesus!! He is always listening for our calls. And He is always willing to come to our aid IMMEDIATELY!
Jesus has PROMISED never to leave us without the comfort of His presence! And even though circumstances may make us uncomfortable at times, Jesus is always ready to come in Spirit and comfort our troubled souls with His PRESENCE!
