THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><>
Two hunting buddies came upon some very large bear tracks in the woods. One of them was very obviously afraid. He said, "Tell ya what we'll do. You go ahead and see where this bear went. I'll go back-track and see where he came from!"

1 Sam 17:37
37 David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.
(KJV)

Now you're familiar with this story. David was proposing to go out and fight Goliath! He was NOT afraid.
Saul, and the whole camp of Israelites WERE afraid! They had let their fears keep them from doing the right thing.
You've probably seen many Christians like Saul and the army of Israelites. They're afraid of what someone might think or say, so they don't do anything. They might say, "I'm just being CAREFUL!" But there's a big difference between being careful and being THOUGHTFUL!
Saul was obstructed by fear. David was driven by careful deliberation. Saul did NOTHING. David won the battle!
Usually, fear is hidden behind cloudy statements like "let's be sure this is best for ALL," and "let's make sure we calculate all the risks." Don't let those kinds of statements deter you from doing what's right for God.
If we are doing something for our Lord, then HE'LL take care of the risks! And He'll also give us the wisdom to do what's best for ALL.
Saul was TOO careful! David was THOUGHTFUL!
God gives courage!
Love ya,
Bruce

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." (1John 4:18)
