THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Do you remember when candy bars cost a nickel?
Do you remember when cokes were a dime?
Inflation is a normal, though undesirable, result of a progressive nation.
A sign on a water cooler at Hughes Aircraft in Torrance: "Due to the inflation and other rising costs, the water in this cooler is TWICE as free as it used to be."

Eph 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Because of God's mercy, He has granted salvation as a free gift.
The free gift is offered by GRACE -- unearned, undeserved favor.
Salvation cannot be earned. Neither can it be purchased.
We cannot be good enough to obtain it, we must simply receive it by FAITH.
Faith is described in the Bible having two parts. In Genesis 15:6, the Bible says that Abraham "believed in the LORD, and HE (God) counted it to him for righteousness."
So, for the first part, salvation must be believed in order to be received.
In Habakkuk 2:4, the Bible says that "the just shall LIVE by his faith."
So, for the second part, salvation causes action which exhibits or communicates belief to others.
The Bible also tells us, in James 2:19, that even the devils believe in Christ. The difference between them and people who have received salvation is that the devils don't exhibit any change!
FAITH in Christ is the free gift of God offered to anyone who will believe Him, and commit to being changed.
FAITH results in exhibiting change.
Faith is the dynamic power of God in us that causes us to tell others about Jesus.
